Project Execution: Basic Elements of the Activity
We will try to relate the specific issues and themes of the activity to the elements and working methods (as well as the program's sessions of the program) that we will use during the PDA. The next lines will define the elements that we will be using:
- CULTURAL AWARENESS: Prior to each morning session, we will conduct energizers in a fun and creative manner to engage participants, as well as some team-building activities. Additionally, intercultural nights will be held to allow participants to showcase their cultures and traditions.
- EMOTIONAL AWARENESS: One major objective of the project is strengthening empathetic understanding. In the Journaling Activity, participants will be divided into groups of 2 and they will complete a series of tasks. Some of these tasks are about identifying the top 5 core values of your character; identifying the reason you do everything you do in life, etc. Such tasks will help them to better understand themselves. In an alternate version of the activity "One Step Forward," participants will have to take one step forward in accordance with their personal beliefs and experiences. The purpose of this alternate activity is to demonstrate to participants that many people have felt the same way or encountered similar situations in the past. Finally, participants will learn how to identify the demands of their potential consumers in the digital industry through the activity "The Empathy Map" (Timetable).
- STRENGTHEN INNOVATION AND DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Through the various activities, participants will learn to think big, as well as to act big. Each national group of participants will start a digital business plan during the preparation phase. The project will assist them in developing their creative and critical thinking abilities, expressing their ideas within their group, and starting to consider the implementation of their project. During the PDA, participants will have an entire day to continue their project while receiving assistance with various digital tools under close supervision. On the last day, two sessions will be devoted to participants presenting their digital business plans and receiving feedback, as well as developing an action and dissemination plan for what they will do about it after the project ends.
- DIGITAL LITERACY AND HARD SKILLS: Other than soft skills, hard skills and knowledge are also essential. Success cannot happen without both. In the activity "Business Digital Design," participants will be introduced to the three steps of Acquisition, Behaviour, and Conversion, deciding the main functions of their digital business, and what customers will have to do once they enter their website. In the activity, "Home-Page" (TIMETABLE) participants will be introduced to the concepts of accessibility and functionality, how plugins can be used to improve efficiency when working on WordPress, and the importance of the Website and digital content when having a digital business. In fact, participants will be divided into groups. Each group will be required to create a wireframe/ prototype of how the structure of their website will be. They will then have to fill the contents of the prototype with their brand identity and conceptual content of their websites. Participants will then have to develop an idea for an app that is simple, functional, and accessible to people with disabilities. During the 4-session process of designing their digital business plan, they will be introduced to multiple tasks such as competitive analysis, brand identity, digital marketing, etc. In each session, they will have to complete a series of tasks and upload them on Google Forms designed for each session separately.
- CRITICAL THINKING: While harmony and peace are crucial components of this project's mentality, we also aim to foster critical thinking and the idea that it is acceptable to disagree with others as long as you are respectful. In the activity "Traditional Tools vs. Digital Tools" (TIMETABLE), on one side of the room, there will be a paper with the word "AGREE," and on the other, there will be a paper with the word "DISAGREE." Different statements will be read aloud, and participants will have to take a position and justify their decision.
